Of Gazelles Unheard is poet, translator, and scholar Jaclyn Piudik's transtranslations of Federico Garcia Lorca’s series of “Gacelas” in his Diván del Tamarit. They are new works derived from the Spanish originals.  

 

Jaclyn Piudik is author of a chapbook, The Tao of Loathliness, published by fooliar press in 2005, re-issued in a second edition in 2008. Her poems have appeared in numerous anthologies and journals, including Garden Variety Anthology, The New Quarterly, Columbia Poetry Review, and Barrow Street. She has edited three collections of poetry for award winning publisher Book Thug and is the recipient of a New York Times Fellowship for Creative Writing, and the Alice M. Sellers Award from the Academy of American Poets. She holds a Ph.D. in Medieval Literature from the the University of Toronto, where she teaches poetry and writing.
